1st Grade batting record broken Rhys May has broken a 45 year old 1st grade batting record when he scored 245 runs against East Fremantle on Saturday 17 January. The old record of 233 was held by Doug Stewart, made in the 1963/64 season. Rhys hit 27 fours and 9 sixes in his marathon innings. This is the third double century made in 1st grade. Brad Bootsma made 202 in 2006/2007. Sportsmans Lunch On Wednesday 28 January from 12:30pm onwards, start the New Year by the water at the East Fremantle Yacht Club with some fine food, drink and stories at our sportsmans lunch. The lunch includes a fantastic line up of sports characters including Kim Hughes, Malcolm Conn and Ken Judge. Quiz Night On Wednesday 11 February, CBC Cricket Club, in conjunction with the Bateman Junior Cricket Club will be hosting a Quiz Night at the Karoonda Clubrooms. Cricketer Of The Year Find out who the best Cricketer at CBC was for season 2008/2009 on Saturday 7 March. From 7:00pm onwards, we will be counting all the votes from every match of the season to find out who will be crowned CBC Cricketer of The Year. It will also be a great way to celebrate the end of another cricket season or to celebrate making the finals. Life Members/100 Club Draw On Sunday 8 March, the Life Members will be having their annual Lunch as the rest of the club enjoy the annual 100 Club Draw.
